Description
If left in its natural habitat, the White Tiger would be an extinct species. Because the white coloration is so disadvantageous to survival, there is no recorded evidence of a white cub ever living long enough in the wild to become an adult. That is why white tigers ONLY exist in captivity and then ONLY as the result of continual, destructive and unethical inbreeding.
Unfortunately, the last white tiger, in the wild, on record, was shot by a trophy hunter in 1958. Today the species survives only in captivity. There are 200 white tigers in captivity, the product of nine generations of inbreeding.
It's sad to see animals caged, on the other hand, in the case of white tigers, the species would not exist otherwise.
